木刀と短刀

Custom Sized Sword and Dagger in Walnut

This custom-length bokutō was requested by a judoka whose body didn’t fit standard commercial length swords, for use in kime-no-kata. The shorter length allows her to pull the sword naturally out of her belt without having to wear her gi incorrectly. Hand-carved from a lovely piece of straight-grained Black Walnut. Designed in the style of naka-zori, with the curve set at the center of the blade. The tsuba (guard) is made of Walnut laminated with Hickory for extra strength and an extra visual touch. The tantō is standard length. Hand-made tool roll in faux leather with cotton lining was included.
